The International School of Hospitality Announces Seminar on "Going Green in the Hospitality Industry"
Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB), November 5, 2007 -- The International School of Hospitality (TISOH - http://www.tisoh.com) announced a special seminar on environmental concerns in the hospitality industry, to be held at the school's new facility at 3614 E. Sunset Road, at 6 pm on Monday, November 19th. The seminar is an integral part of the regular curriculum for the wedding, special events, and meeting planning students. But because of the urgency and importance of the subject, the seminar will also be open to the public free of charge.
In a continuing effort by the school to bring an increased awareness of "green" concerns to its students, the seminar seeks to introduce eco-friendly alternatives to current practices. The attendees will learn innovative and cost-effective ways to apply green practices that will not only be friendly to the environment but also be socially responsible to the community.
The program will be in the form of a symposium and panel discussion, with a theme of "Going Green in the Hospitality Industry". The speakers will include Eric Torres, a mentor and member of Nobel Prize Winner Al Gore's Climate Project Team, who will present a brief overview of the climate and environmental crisis facing all of us and some simple solutions each of us can put into practice. The other panelists, including Patricia Norman, CMP, Director of Meeting and Conference Planning for the National Medical Association (NMA), Christie McCoy, President of CLM Weddings, Michele Polci, CPCE CMP, Director of Catering Sales at Rio All-suite Hotel & Casino, and TJ Spain, Director of Client Services for the Las Vegas Convention Center, will give presentations of what they are currently doing in their organizations that relate to "going green" and becoming environmentally friendly. There will be a Q & A session immediately following.
