Students Can Utilize Text Messaging to Learn SAT and ACT Vocabulary Words on Their Cell Phone

Coppell, TX (PRWEB) April 2, 2008 -- TexTutor.com presents an exclusive way for students to study for their SAT and ACT. Studies reveal that up to 90 percent of teenagers with cell phones use text messaging every day. In an effort to "teach students in their world" Text Tutor, LLC announces the launch of www.textutor.com, a service that sends sample SAT and ACT vocabulary words to the cell phones of students prepping for those all-important college entrance exams.

"TexTutor.com utilizes the explosive use of text messaging by students from ages fourteen to twenty-four in an effort to 'teach students in their world'," said Tim Thomasson, President of Textutor.com.

Textutor.com sends a sample ACT or SAT word and it?s definition to the student?s cell phone using standard SMS text messaging. The definition is followed up with a sentence using the vocabulary word. Next, the student is sent a quiz that presents up to four possible definitions for the vocabulary word. The student chooses an answer and replies. If the student chooses the correct answer, a follow-up message repeats the answer and informs the student that the answer was correct. If the student chooses a wrong answer, the correct answer is displayed and the student is informed that the word will be repeated at a later time.

"During the process, each word is presented to the student at least four times and the student is tested to ensure that they have learned the word," said Thomasson. "An online progress report tracks the messages and responses for each vocabulary word. If desired, TexTutor.com allows weekly progress reports to be automatically sent to the student, a parent, or a teacher."

The www.textutor.com service can benefit any of the following groups: college prep students wanting to learn sample ACT and SAT vocabulary words, high schools students with a desire to improve their vocabulary in order improve their grades, and anyone desiring to expand and improve their knowledge of English vocabulary.

Pricing for the TexTutor service begins at $9.95 per month.
