I Can Hear You Now: Wi-Ex Introduces New zBoost zPocket Cell Phone Signal Booster
Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) April 1, 2008 -- Wi-Ex, (www.wi-ex.com), the leading provider of consumer cell phone signal boosters, announced today at CTIA (Booth 4507) the zBoost zPocket, the personal cell phone signal booster to help improve your cell phone signal at home or on the go. The zPocket is the newest edition to the award winning zBoost product line and at $119 represents the lowest priced entry unit in the zBoost line. The zPocket provides consumers with an affordable, dual-band solution that captures and amplifies the 800MHz signal or the 1900MHz bands for improved cell phone signal at home, the office or on the go. The zPocket is light weight making it ideal for personal spaces such as hotels, desks, small apartments and dorm rooms.
According to the zBoost "On the Go" survey, commissioned in March 2008 and conducted by Harris Interactive®, 72% of cell phone owners have experienced service problems such as dropped calls (45%), poor signal reception at home (36%) or dead zones at work (34%).
"Our most recent survey findings continue to demonstrate the challenges consumers face when trying to get and keep a strong cell phone signal at home, in the car and on the go," said Lloyd R. Meese, President and CEO of Wi-Ex. "Wi-Ex is committed to providing innovative solutions that meet the needs for all consumers facing cell phone signal issues. The zPocket addresses the needs of those consumers looking for a solution for travel, as well as smaller spaces - hotels, dorms, apartments. The zPocket is a unique solution that is portable, easy to set up and has a very small footprint."
The zBoost zPocket repeats and amplifies a cell phone signal from outside the building to a consumer's phone and is ideal for dorms, hotel rooms, condos or apartments all while maintaining the integrity of the carriers' network. In addition, it supports voice calls or data services and works with all phones and carriers except Nextel.
The package includes everything consumers need to improve their cell phone signal including a small window mount base unit, a pocket for your phone and indoor antenna. The zPocket allows consumers to freely move around the room with either their speakerphone or Bluetooth headset. The unit is designed to sit or hang in the window and a simple indoor antenna is cabled up to 20 feet across the room. The zBoost zPocket is easy to set-up and provides "take-with-you" convenience with a small footprint.
Like all Wi-Ex products, the zBoost zPocket uses patent-pending technology to protect the carrier network.
zBoost offers a suite of products that improve in-door cell phone signals through the creation of cell zones. About the zBoost "On the Go" Survey This survey was conducted online by Harris Interactive on behalf of WiEx between March 14 and March 18, 2008 among 2,387 U.S. adults 18 years of age or older, of whom, 2,114 own a cell phone.
Results were weighted as needed on the basis of region, age within gender, education, household income, and race/ethnicity. Propensity score weighting was also used to adjust for respondents' propensity to be online.
All sample surveys and polls, whether or not they use probability sampling, are subject to multiple sources of error which are most often not possible to quantify or estimate, including sampling error, coverage error, error associated with nonresponse, error associated with question wording and response options, and post-survey weighting and adjustments. Therefore, Harris Interactive avoids the words "margin of error" as they are misleading. All that can be calculated are different possible sampling errors with different probabilities for pure, unweighted, random samples with 100% response rates. These are only theoretical because no published polls come close to this ideal.
Respondents for this survey were selected from among those who have agreed to participate in Harris Interactive surveys. The data have been weighted to reflect the composition of the U.S. adult population. Because the sample is based on those who agreed to be invited to participate in the Harris Interactive online research panel, no estimates of theoretical sampling error can be calculated.
